so i'm putting an aussie locker and 4.88's in the ttb. i have "thick gears" so i have to have the ring gear off to get the cross pin outta the carrier. this means the carrier has to be outta the diff. so i got the ring gear off, and the carrier on the bench. i put the locker in the carrier. so now all i gotta do is put in the pin, bolt on the ring gear and put the carrier back in the diff.
